What are ESD anti-static polyethylene foams?

Some components of electronic equipment, such as integrated circuits or other components, are very sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD).
These discharges represent a sudden and instantaneous flow of current created by, for example, rubbing surfaces together, which is usually imperceptible to humans, but often harmful to equipment.
ESD discharges can damage electronic equipment, making it susceptible to failure and sometimes even completely unusable.
To prevent such situations, special protective materials are recommended.

ADVANTAGES OF ESD FOAM :
– super soft and gentle
– durable
– damage resistant
– protects against electrostatic discharge
– available in various shapes and sizes

What are ESD anti-static polyethylene foams?

Antistatic foam is a material that prevents electrostatic discharge.
Thanks to its special antistatic properties, the foam does not release charges when it comes into contact with other plastics.
This makes the material perfect for protecting electronic equipment that is susceptible to the effects of electrification.
At the same time, ESD polyethylene foams are very gentle, which means that they do not scratch or damage even delicate devices, such as screens or LCD panels.
In addition, ESD polyethylene foams provide good cushioning and protection against electroshock and vibration, which can cause damage to products in transit.

How are ESD polyethylene foams made?

Anti-static foam boards are made by mixing and then curing and molding liquid chemicals such as polyisocyanates, polyols and other intermediates.
These materials are mixed together using a mixing head, and then the resulting mixture is poured onto a conveyor belt, where it passes through a foaming head.
The next step is to cure and form the material into the desired shape, cut it into smaller blocks and cure it at room temperature.

Versatile application of anti-static polyethylene foams

The ESD polyethylene foams we offer are widely used in the packaging industry at various stages of production, storage and transportation.
They are an excellent protective material used to protect electronic equipment.
They prove themselves as a material used in the production of storage containers and packaging.
They are suitable for the manufacture of dividers, which are designed to safely store individual components or equipment close to each other, while saving space in the warehouse.

Antistatic foam can also be used as a delicate and durable material for lining workstations, for example.
In this way, the foam will protect equipment from discharges as early as the assembly stage, as well as prevent mechanical scratches to delicate components such as LCD panels.
ESD polyethylene foam can also be used to make special armbands for workers to dissipate charges from their bodies, which affects work safety.
